The First Truth:
There is plenty of food and other resources in the USA. Enough so that no one should go hungry or be homeless.
The government is the LAST entity that should be filling this void. Private citizens, religious organizations, and other charities should be filling this gap and are attempting to do just that.
But it takes more. The USA is the most giving country on Earth. But we should all step up, to end the calls for the government to fill that gap.
The government should never supplant our conscience. The government should never supply basic needs to it's people. The people should.
When the government gets involved, it steals the souls of its citizens. It becomes the end all, be all and ruler of the people, instead of truly serving the people. Government becomes the arbiter of what is moral and takes that role from the people.
So, what's the answer?
Keep the government small. Keep the government out of our business. Keep the government supplying only those services that are necessary for a society. Protection and infrastructure. Nothing more.
Otherwise the government becomes our overlords and gives the people limited rights, rather than the people having all rights, only relinquishing a selected few, highly guarded rights, to the government.
Our government has become too large, too encroaching, too powerful, too menacing. We are giving our souls, our freedoms, our moral convictions over to the government. It's no longer, "our" government, we are now "it's" subjects.
That has to change.
And it changes by every American stepping up. Pledge at least 10% of your income to helping others. Eliminating the call for the government to be the answer. Let the people be the answer. Keep the government our of our daily lives. End the calls for a bigger, more involved government. The government is not the replacement for individual morality.
No one should think, that they don't have to worry about the homeless or the hungry, because the government will, "take care of it". That's exactly how we lose our souls, by not exercising them.
The USA is great enough to solve any problem. And the first answer is to stop looking to the government.
People who what the government to be the answer are well meaning. There is no perfect solution when people are involved. However, if the people are not willing to take care of each other, the government is not a solution. When the government takes over, the result is always to the detriment of it's citizens.
A nation is not the greatest nation on Earth because it's government provides for all. A nation becomes the greatest nation on Earth when the people stop hunger and homelessness and demonstrate what is right and good about mankind.
